Avast, ya landlubbers! It's time for another edition of Here Be Spoilers!

This week, the guys take a look at 1980's The Blues Brothers starring Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. So many great cameos! Such good music! Such a looooong movie for a comedy!

Once again, Jake lashes out at the new female Thor. Larry makes a startling discover about Cab Calloway. Derek can't understand where Carrie Fisher is getting all that money for weapons. It's mayhem!
They're on a mission from God. Really.
So tune in, ye scurvy dogs! And remember to come back for more next week! Arrrrr!

Ten Funny Tweets Derek Re-Tweeted Last Week

Well, kids, it's been quite a week. There were some bad things happening, but for this post, we're going to focus on the positive stuff, if that's okay with you.

First, congratulations to Weird Al Yankovic for having his new album, Mandatory Fun, debut at #1! Fun Facts: This is the first comedy album to reach #1 since 1963. (Anybody want to guess what that album was?) And it's the first comedy album ever to debut at #1. Congrats, Al!

Second, the San Diego Comic Con was this weekend. Lots of people got together, many of them dressed as characters from comics, science fiction movies and TV shows, and, oddly, four guys who all came dressed as Patrick Swayze from To Wong Foo... due to a mix-up. Still, I'm sure they had a good time.

Among the things that came out of ComicCon were trailers for a bunch of upcoming flicks, including Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Mad Max: Fury Road. I'm sure there were dozens of other really cool be-coloned films that we'll be hearing about soon, so keep an eye out!

And now, on to the reason I come here on Sunday nights. We've got a few new names showing up on the list for the first time, and I'm sure it won't be their last. But before we get started, again let me suggest you get your butts over to Twitter and join in on the lunacy! It's fun! I'll even recommend people follow you and stuff!

Anyway, let's do this thing!

And there you have it! I hope you all have an excellent week, and, as always, let me help you along with what is, by far, one of my very favorite commercials ever. It is...transcendent...Enjoy!

Oh! And don't foget: This week's Here Be Spoilers! movie is 1980's The Blues Brothers with Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi, among many others!

All the best,
Derek and Bosco

Ten Funny Tweets Derek Re-Tweeted Last Week

Another week, another batch of funny from the fine folks at Twitter!

That's right, kids. Once again, I have spent tens of minutes collecting and curating some of the funniest tweets I've read this week and hand-picking ten of my favorites. Were they the best? I'll let you decide. I will say this, though: They readily available to me because I actually have a Twitter account. You should probably go make one for yourself so you can find people who are potentially even funnier. Who knows? Not you, because you don't have a Twitter account! So step it up and make it happen!

One note before I get to the funny: There may not be a Here Be Spoilers this week because of scheduling conflicts, but we're working to see what we can do. If things work out, we may just have to do it later in the week.

Anyway, let's get this party started!

And there you have it!

As always, I want to wish you the best possible week, and to start it off, here's a classic short film that pretty much launched a genre of funny Star Wars fan films: Hardware Wars: The Special Edition. Enjoy!

Have a great week!

All the best,
Derek and Bosco

Shaun of the Dead

Oh, we had fun with this one! One of the greatest British rom-com-zom movies ever: Shaun of the Dead!

Larry takes the lead, as he's the biggest zombie fan of the group, eventually confessing to being touched in an inappropriate way by a zombie as a child. Jake jumps in with useful and fun trivia about the movie and other projects associated with it. Derek forgets names, says irrelevant things, and then talks about non-movie-related stuff. Somehow, it all works out and finished with round two of our Cage-Off!

Tune in to hear terrible accents, not-quite-as-terrible Nicholas Cage impressions, and news about Thor and Weird Al Yankovic! Also, The Ugly Couchcast's Bosco makes a cameo appearance to help the guys find out whether dogs can look up.

So get on board, ye scurvy dogs! ARRRR!

Ten Funny Tweets Derek Re-Tweeted Last Week

Hi, gang! It's time for another fresh batch of funny from the hilarious folks on Twitter!

As always, I want to recommend that, if you're not a Twitter monkey yet, you should probably just go ahead and join because there are even more funny people than I've found. (Although it should be noted that the ones I have found are pretty damn funny.)

And so, without further ado, here we go!

And there you have it! Like always, I hope you all have a wonderful week. Here's a little something that was forwarded to me by Kris Silva. Stick it out till the end. Good times!

Have a great week! And remember: the movie we're watching this week for Here Be Spoilers is Shaun of the Dead.

All the best,
Derek and Bosco

The Dictator

Arrrr, ye scurvy dogs! It's time for another episode of Here Be Spoilers! This week, the guys watched Sacha Baron Cohen's The Dictator. It also stars Anna Farris and features cameos from the likes of John C. Reilly, Gary Shandling and loads of other folks.

They also had their very first Cage-Off, where each of them tried their best to do a Nicholas Cage impersonation, and they want YOU to decide whose was the best! Listen to the show for details.

Now hoist the mainsail and download the show! Aladeen, muthafucka!

Ten Funny Tweets Derek Re-Tweeted last Week

Hey, gang! It's that time again!

HOWEVER...I wanted to take a quick moment to wish my youngest son, Nigel, a very happy 16th birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NIGEL!

"When 900-years-old you reach...Nevermind. You're pretty much there already, dad..."
Good lord and butter...All of my kids are now officially of driving age. But I refuse to make myself feel old because of it. Besides, they are happy to do it for me.

Anyway, it's time to throw a bunch of Twitter wackiness at you, and I think I've grabbed a few good ones. And, as always, if you want to find even more funny, by all means, join us over there and laugh until your guts hurt!

And so, in no particular order...

And there you have it! Here's to an awesome week for all of you! And let me try to help it along with this cooking show parody video I made with my kids, starring Nigel and Vaughn. (Caleb was our light and camera guy.) It's called "Make It Edible". Enjoy!

Have a great week!

All the best,
Derek and Bosco

Godzilla's Revenge (1969)

We're baaaaack! This week, Derek, Jake and Larry sat down to watch the first Godzilla movie that was actually made for kids: Godzilla's Revenge.

There's so much going on in this that it's hard to believe it was all crammed into a movie that's just over an hour long! There's monsters galore, giant spider anus, tiny shorts, bad dubbing, and Godzilla's son, who sounds like Goofy! Really, what more could you ask for?

So, batten down your hatches and hoist the sails as we cruise headlong into what we're sure some critic called "a movie of some kind."
